Websites - Dave Sakolsky Flash Portfolio… April 12, 2009 No Comments
This is my personal flash portfolio. I gave myself a very limited timeframe, only one week for all storyboarding and asset building. The remainder was spent in Flash and AS 2.0.

Artist Impressions:
We learned a lot of Actionscripting on this project. Every animation is scripted with a few small exceptions. Very little keyframing was involved. Regarding the actual design, we were going for a movie site type of feel. We decided on mostly greens and grays with some deep red for contrast. Lots of texture play and Photoshop work.
Magazine Ads - Instron Materials Testing… March 7, 2009 No Comments
A single page magazine ad we designed for the Instron Materials Testing Corporation. This and the subsequent piece were for an interview I had there. Supplied with three spot colors and the Instron logo. The copy was done by myself, save for the last two thirds of the paragraph.
No matter what separates you from the ground, better materials testing means a safer world.

Artist Impressions:
We were given one week to produce two fully fledged concepts for Instron per our interview. One a trade show poster and one a single page magazine ad. With the pre-production out of the way, we got started on our magazine ad. The Instron logo adorns the upper right corner in succession.

Artist Impressions:
We were given one week to produce two fully fledged concepts for Instron per our interview. One a trade show poster and one a single page magazine ad. After some deliberation we decided on having a ‘ribbony’ effect with the spot colors, displaying the many facets of material testing that Instron provides.

These were a lot of fun as we hadn’t done any Rack Cards prior to this. All photos were supplied by Deirdre and professionally taken, as was the logo rough cut and several spot colors. Again we were going for a mystical feel to supplement the Celtic Jewelery.

This client was after a mystical feel. We modeled these after the Rack Cards we created. We went with a decisively thick 15pt business card. I was supplied with a rough cut of the logo along with a few spot colors and product images. All photos were professionally taken.

We really enjoyed this project. We spent a little under two weeks on pre-production locking in a design. We had a lot of fun playing with the ‘moodiness’ of this piece. It was also a pleasure to work with such a distinguished, talented client.
